The Hough neighborhood, pronounced "how-ck" is one of several areas that make up what I'd refer to as 'Downtown Vancouver'. 

Walkable to Main street and locally-owned small businesses, and a friendly community of neighbors, this area has wonderful quaint, small-town energy but offers mostly older homes; some dating to the early 1900s. Some have been totally renovated, and some are more close to their original finishes, but all have incredible character.

That being said, sometimes these homes can come with what some would consider a liability, as we don't know what's behind the walls; from old and outdated electrical work to plumbing. A trusted Realtor and home inspector can give you the confidence you need to make an educated decision about purchasing here. 

It's common for lower ceilings, shorter stairs, and smaller rooms to be found in the historical homes here, which isn't for everyone. Open floorplans are much less common, and you will see higher price-points per square foot based on location, location, location!
